QR code stickers for autos, buses, trucks and other commercial vehicles

A commercial vehicle is parked in public places all day. A QR sticker gives anyone a way to reach the owner or operator, without a phone number painted on the side.

Who it is for

• Auto-rickshaw owners and drivers, who park on streets and stands and often get blocked in or moved.
• Bus and van operators, including school and staff transport, where someone may need to reach the operator.
• Truck and goods vehicle owners, whose vehicles park on roadsides and in yards.
• Fleet owners, who want alerts about any of their vehicles in one place.

What people can report

The person scanning picks a ready-made message, such as that the vehicle is blocking their way, its lights are on, a door is open, something looks wrong or someone seems to be tampering with it. They can also type a message of their own, for example that something was left behind.

Running more than one vehicle

Each vehicle needs its own tag, at ₹449 once per vehicle. When you get a tag you choose its type: auto-rickshaw, bus, truck or other vehicle, and you can add the registration number. The alerts go to the WhatsApp number you register, so a fleet manager can receive alerts for all vehicles on one number.

Where to stick it

A rear or side panel is usually simplest, away from the number plate, lights and reflectors. Commercial vehicles can have extra rules about permits and markings, so check with your local RTO before putting anything on glass. Our general guide to the rules is a starting point, not legal advice.
