A QR code that can reach your family after an accident

If something happens to you on the road, the people around you often have no way to reach your family. An emergency contact on your tag gives them one.

How emergency contacts work

When you get a SetuTag you can add up to two emergency contacts: family members or close friends. Adding them is optional.

If a bystander scans your tag and sees a real emergency, such as an accident or a medical situation, they see a separate red button. They confirm, share their location and the alert goes to your emergency contacts instead of you. It reaches each of them on WhatsApp with the location, so they know where to go.

What is protected

• The bystander never sees your number or your emergency contacts' numbers.
• Your contacts do not receive the bystander's number.
• No medical details are stored or sent. The alert says only that someone reported an emergency, with the location.

Alerts and cost

An emergency alert goes to every emergency contact on the tag, and each message counts as one of your 700 alerts. With two contacts one emergency alert uses two. It uses the same allowance as normal alerts and there is nothing extra to pay.

What it is not

SetuTag is not an emergency service. It does not call an ambulance or the police. In a life-threatening situation, call 112 first, and use the alert as an extra way to reach your family.

Tips

• Choose people who usually have WhatsApp and their phone with them.
• Tell them they are your emergency contacts, so an unexpected message does not confuse them.
• Keep it to numbers you are sure will stay the same.
